Welcome to EveryPath. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our iOS application.
EveryPath is designed with privacy in mind. We only collect information that you voluntarily provide and that is necessary to provide the app's functionality:
User-Created Content
- Goals and Plans: Bucket list items, descriptions, categories, timelines, and budgets you create
- Milestones and Steps: Action plans, sub-goals, and progress tracking data
- Memories: Photos, videos, and journal entries you add to completed goals
- Personal Information: Optional username you choose for friend sharing
Automatically Collected Information
- iCloud Account: Your Apple ID is used for iCloud sync (managed by Apple, not us)
- Device Information: Basic device type and iOS version for app functionality
What We DON'T Collect
- We do NOT collect analytics or usage tracking data
- We do NOT use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs
- We do NOT collect your location without your explicit permission for specific goals
- We do NOT sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Display your bucket list goals and plans within the app
- Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
- Enable collaboration features when you choose to share goals with friends
- Provide AI-assisted planning when you use the AI Assistant feature (optional)
- Store your memories and photos for completed goals
3. Data Storage & iCloud
Your Private iCloud Container
All your data is stored in your personal, private iCloud container using Apple's CloudKit framework. This means:
- Data is stored in YOUR iCloud storage, not on our servers
- We cannot access your data without your explicit permission
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's encryption
- You control your data through iOS Settings > iCloud
Local Storage
When you use the app offline, data is temporarily stored locally on your device using SwiftData (Apple's local database framework) until it can sync to iCloud.
Photo and Video Storage
Photos and videos you add to memories are stored using CloudKit's external storage system, which optimizes large files and counts against your iCloud storage quota (not the app's quota).
4. Third-Party Services
Apple iCloud
We use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services for data storage and synchronization. Apple's privacy practices are governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
OpenAI API (Optional)
When you use the AI Assistant feature to generate goal plans, your goal information is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This is:
- Completely optional - you can plan goals manually without using AI
- Only activated when you explicitly tap "AI Assistant"
- Governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy
- No personal identifying information is sent, only your goal title and details
No Other Third-Party Services
We do NOT use:
- Google Analytics or similar tracking services
- Advertising networks or SDKs
- Social media tracking pixels
- Any other third-party data collection tools
5. Data Security
We take your security seriously:
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest using Apple's encryption
- No Account System: We don't maintain user accounts or passwords - authentication is handled securely by Apple ID
- Private by Default: Your goals are private unless you explicitly choose to share them
- Apple's Security: We rely on Apple's industry-leading security infrastructure for iCloud
6. Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
Access Your Data
All your data is accessible within the EveryPath app at any time. You can view, edit, and delete any content you've created.
Delete Your Data
You can delete individual goals, memories, or all your data by:
- Deleting items within the app
- Deleting the app from your device (local data is removed)
- Managing iCloud storage in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > EveryPath
Export Your Data
Your data is stored in standard formats within iCloud. You can access your iCloud data through iOS Settings.
Disable Sync
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > EveryPath. This will keep data local to your device only.
7. Children's Privacy
EveryPath is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what is necessary for app functionality. Parents and guardians control access through Apple's Family Sharing and parental controls.
All data collection follows Apple's guidelines for apps in the Kids Category and complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) requirements.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- For significant changes, we may notify you through the app or via email
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy
